José Álvarez is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 35 years of experience in auditing, assurance, and business consulting.

Throughout his professional career, he has served as Senior Manager and Partner at three of the Big Four international audit and accounting firms, leading audits of companies in sectors such as commerce, industry, construction, energy, telecommunications, financial services, education, international projects, and agribusiness, both nationally and regionally. Additionally, he has been a consultant in finance, risk management, corporate governance, internal audit, forensic audit, expert witness services, and agreed-upon procedures, contributing his extensive experience in institutional improvement and strengthening processes.

José earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Panama, holds a Master’s degree in Finance, and a Postgraduate degree in Strategic Management from ULACIT. He has participated in international seminars in the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia, focused on auditing, finance, risk, internal audit, and accounting. He also holds a certification in Forensic Audit granted by FELABAN. He has been a professor in the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Diploma Program at the Specialized University for Certified Public Accountants (UNESCPA), sharing his knowledge with new generations of professionals.
